I know a thing or two about cars: I retired from AAA after 20 years in the auto repair/claims side of the business. (I.E. not the travel, tow, or map side of the business).

It is always a relief to find dependable, knowledgeable automotive folks. I have been coming to York's for the entire time I have had my Benz and these folks know their stuff. They have never let me down. Reasonably priced, and quick turnaround times. Wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. In fact, I have advised Dennis, Jeffrey and team that they cannot retire until I kick the bucket.

I really appreciate the help York's gave me with my ML350. They took the time to diagnose the issue (at no cost) which ended up being a major engine problem. They were also upfront enough to tell me that given the nature of the problem, the cost of repair, and the age of the car I was better off not fixing it. I appreciated the honesty and candor.

Thanks, Yelpers! You came through once again! New to the area and my MB needed a service. Got on my handy app and started calling various auto shops since the dealership was quoting me a lot and I wanted to see if other places were about the same or no. Luckily York's was 3rd on the list because I decided to conclude my search after speaking to Dennis on the phone. I got an estimate and bonus a nice person on the phone. They explained everything and were accommodating with getting me in the next day. They don't have loaner cars available but have a driver to take you where you need to go, I assume within reason of course. My husband who dropped off the car got a ride back to his office. We were charged exactly what was told to me on the phone which was MUCH less than the dealership plus we got the 10% Yelp check in -- 10% is a lot folks. All in all, good, happy, and will go back n' recommend. Call

I was referred by a co worker last year . I have had them service my Mercedes Twice since then . The work is exactly as described and they are very courteous and knowledgeable. I am very very nice pleased .. the icing on the cake is they found an issue with my tire which was under warranty from the dealer because they don't do tires . THANK GOD they checked my tires .. there is a bulging side wall on new tires from December . Took it right to the dealer and they have to keep it till Monday for the tires are special order . I would have never known if they didn't check .. everything happens for a reason .. I do a lot of highway driving and it could have blown on the highway .. wow .. thank you so much for working on my car today .. I attached a picture of my tire they found the bulge in .

If you are looking for a top flight Mercedes repair shop, this is the place. I have been using York for several years for all of our vehicles. Recent example of customer focus: I called Jeff at York's and explained that the cover for the console in my wife's car had popped off and I could not replace it. He asked me to bring it in, which I did 30-minutes later. John York, the owner worked on it for about 45-minutes and got the cover replaced. Good service. Good guys. I spoke to 3-4 different guys and they were all really awesome.

Brought my 2002 X5 in for a new battery. They replaced it pretty painfully, put air in my tires and I wanna say they may have even rotated them.

I also thought them to be somewhat cheaper than other European garages. Competitive prices. Id bring my BMW back to them if it weren't under warranty.

After a not so great experience for years with another repair shop (I have reviewed), I drove by York's and made the decision that I would take my 2002 Mercedes C230 there. The previous shop was not able to reset my service indicator and told me that I needed some new part.

The first time I took my car to York's was when the Engine light came on. They not only diagnosed the engine light problem, they reset the service indicator with no problem, and they did a full evaluation of the car.

After receiving the full evaluation, I made the decision to retire the car at 185,000. York's was great in that they didn't try to just fix one thing for $1000, only to have me return within a month for another and another and another.

I truly appreciated their service, customer service, thoroughness, and honesty.

I now drive a 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE.

Before going to York's, I took my Mercedes 450GL to Mercedes of Walnut Creek for a simple repair and inspection.

Result from Mercedes of Walnut Creek:

* Poor communication of the issues,

* they attempted multiple times to upsell me to a new Mercedes

* $500 bill for the inspection, $9,900 estimated repair bill to fix the "issues" they found

* a 40 minute wait when I went to pick up the car

Took same vehicle to York's with spectacularly different outcome:

Result from York's:

* Clear communication of issues including which ones were actually important to fix

* $120 bill for the inspection ($380 less than M of WC)

* Estimate for repairs that was $6,600 less than M of WC

* Savings of 40% on the repairs they did recommend

As a side note, when I went to York's, Dennis was working the counter, and was having a conversation with an older gentleman about his old Mercedes. The man was struggling with whether he should keep his car or get a used Suburu.

Dennis gave the guy tremendously knowledgeable and caring advice on the pros and cons of each. Clearly he had gotten to know the man well enough that the advice was thoughtful and targeted to him directly. When the man left, Dennis shook his hand warmly and put his hand on his shoulder like they were old friends. Maybe they were, but in any case it was the most human exchange I've ever witnessed in an auto shop.

York Autowerke are the best mechanics I have ever worked with. Alway accommodating and punctual. York are knowledgeable they know Mercedes Benz inside out with years of experience. Honest, professional, trustworthy, and thorough. I can't say enough good things about York's.

I recently took my car in for an issue that I thought was going to be really expensive, based on how my car was behaving. But they fixed it under warranty and it didn't cost me a cent! I realized that if I had taken it anywhere else, I would have gotten ripped off. So here I am, professing my profound gratitude and paying it forward.

My Parents have been loyal clients, taking their cars here for years, receiving great service every time. In fact, a big reason why I currently drive (and most likely will always drive) a Mercedes as opposed to any other make is because I know have a great mechanic.

Honest, good, reasonable prices, nice people. This place is the exact opposite of "Mercedes of Walnut Creek".

York's, by itself, is reason enough to own a Mercedes. Each time I pick up my car it has been serviced perfectly, is squeaky clean, but my wallet has not been cleaned out.

They seem to care and want you to come back. Few dealers care about the customer at all!

Dennis, Jeff, and a mechanic whose name I missed, helped me out even when I hadn't made an appointment and just stopped by. They came out to listen to the noise my car was making and told me it was the blower fan. They even offered to get me an appointment the next day. All I can say is that everyone at York's Motorwerke is honest and great (especially Dennis). I have been coming here for more than 6 years and each time I come for my oil change or regular service, they get back to me as soon as possible and let me know if anything is wrong with my car or not. Believe it or not most of the time they call me back and let me know that my car is doing ok and everything is working very well. The BEST! As soon as you can get your Benz out of Walnut Creek Mercedes the happier you will be. York's is fair, honest and talented. John York is a master mechanic...Dennis is the front office is on top of everything and calls you with updates if need be.

I can't believe I'm only the 2nd reviewer for York's! I know a few people who go to York's & they all highly recommended them.

When my car was due for Service B I did some calling around. Not only was York's the best price but definitely the friendliest. Dennis is great! Even over the phone he was SO nice. I took my car in, & while they did find some other things that needed work, he was honest with me when I asked what really needed to be done now & what could wait a month or 2. When I went to pick up my car Dennis told me if I had any problems to give him a ring. AND he gave me a free magnetic calendar & a nice pen...how'd he know I love free sh*t?!? lol

Let's face it: no one is ever happy when a service light comes on. You not only have a problem that may be serious, NOW you have to find a mechanic whom you trust. We own a 2010 TDI Jetta that is affected by the scandal but meantime required a service. I went on Yelp and found these guys. They are honest, knowledgeable, extremely professional. I got a ride home from an employee after dropping my car off. I could have also gotten a ride back but I didn't need it. Not only did they do the service, they cleaned the car inside and out, and knew about how VW's proposed plan would affect us. The service cost what they said it would. I still won't dance around when the service light goes on, but at least I can feel good about where to take my car. Do not go to the dealership (unless you must); go to York's.

I recently purchased a used 2005 Mercedes turbodiesel. I needed some work done on it as soon as possible at the best prices. Within a 45 mile radius of my house, they had the best prices (over $600 cheaper), and by far had the soonest available appointment and got my car done in 1 day, and I didn't give them almost any notice. Dennis was very helpful and extremely nice. I highly recommend then for any work needed done on your Mercedes. This is my 2nd Mercedes I've had and won't be my last due to there knowledge and honest work everytime.

I lease a C250 that is no longer under the dealership service contract. Following up on the impressive Yelp reviews, I brought my car in for a service B on Oct 2015. Very professional and courteous staff. They did a same day service and even picked me up from a coffee shop when the car was done. I've never written a review until now but first, thank you fellow Yelpers for the reviews. I chose York's based on all of the great reviews and you were spot on. I recently purchased a one owner 1985 Mercedes 300 CD with only 78k on it from a couple in Florida. I did not have any inspections before I purchased the car, I actually never even saw the car in person before it arrived at my home in Oakland - yes, took a big chance. I wanted to have the car thoroughly gone over and I also wanted to learn about my old gem in the process. Dennis and John were amazing! They spent about 2 hours answering my questions and going over the car with me. I did 4k worth of work with them and am so happy with the results. The car runs and feels so much better now and it turns out I purchased a great car. They have my business for life!

We have a 1983 Mercedes 240D; it belongs to my 96 year old mom. There is such a great experience taking the car to York Motorwerk, It pays a lot to have an auto mechanic that you trust. What really sets this trustworthy business apart starts with how fair and ethically they treat you, they fix what they say they're going to fix, and are extremely careful about preventative measures to ensure you do not run into additional problems down the road. There is a finely meshed team over there - I just always feel confident and assured when they have fixed the car.

York's Motorwerke has serviced all of our Mercedes Benz vehicles for over the past ten years or so. From our 1984 E190, 1996 E320, 1987 SL560, 2003 SL500, they have always maintained our cars in top condition with professionalism from John (the owner) to Dennis (the office manager). This includes all the mechanics and support staff as well. The reliability of their mechanics is consistently at the highest level. We have never had to return for correction or adjustment of work recently performed. Further, they maintain complete information about each service, condition of the car, and grade elements of the car for future servcive. I've been a customer of York's Motorwerke for a few years now and I am their #1 fan. They specialize in MBZ but work on all German makes (Audi, BMW, VW, etc.). In my experience, this is an HONEST shop with fantastic prices vs. the dealership. They are extremely knowledgeable, use genuine OEM parts and stand by their work. All of the staff are polite and they listen well, especially when there is a problem. They stand behind their work without excuse.
